AA Motor (standard) policies typically do cover driving of other cars (if over 25 with full Irish licence). You can confirm you are on an AA Motor policy and not an AA Value policy in your policy documents.
How to check if you have cover to drive cars:
Your policy documents would have been sent to you by post & email when you took out your policy. You can search for emails from email@example.com to locate your policy documents in your email. The password for this document will be your date of birth in the format MMDDYYYY.
On page three, under Reasons Why, Summary of cover, you will see the type of policy that you have. This will be either an AA Motor, which is a standard AA insurance policy, or an AA Value policy.
Summary Of Cover
- AA Motor: If your summary of cover says that you have an AA Motor policy, this policy does cover driving of other cars (if over 25 years old with full licence). This cover is on a third party basis unless you are also a member of the AA, in which case you may qualify for comprehensive cover on other cars. Terms & Conditions Apply. The full breakdown of what is covered is explained in the AA Summary of Cover.
- AA Value: The value policy does not cover driving of other cars.
You can also check your level of cover by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org, emails are responded to within 1 working day. Please be sure to include your full name, date of birth and phone number in the email in order to discuss your policy via email.
